Staff of the Ontario Securities Commission laid charges against Jose Castaneda yesterday for trading in securities without being registered.
The charges arise from the fact that Castaneda continued to trade in securities without registration for a period of over three years after he had been prohibited from further trading by order of the Ontario Securities Commission.
Castaneda’s first court appearance is scheduled for Feb.1, 2006, in Toronto..
The OSC alleges:
- On or between the Jan. 1, 1999, and June 30, 2003, Castaneda traded in securities without being registered; and
- he contravened Ontario Securities law by trading in securities at a time when he was prohibited from trading in securities by order of the OSC.
