The Ontario Securities Commission has amended its determination of who can perform the duties of a director.
On June 30, 2005, the OSC issued an assignment, allowing it to assign certain powers and duties to each “director”, a category which includes the executive director, a director or deputy director of the commission, and employees designated by the executive director.
That assignment has been amended and replaced several times since then. It is now being amended again to reflect, among other things, the restructuring of its Capital Markets Branch into two new branches: the Compliance and Registrant Regulation Branch and the Market Regulation Branch. Each of these branches has its own director.
