Two new members have been appointed to Ontario’s Financial Services Tribunal. Shiraz Bharmal and Paul Litner have each been appointed to the tribunal for a three-year term.
Bharmal is an actuary who recently retired from Towers Perrin where he was managing principal and head of the firm’s employee benefits services consulting practice. He has extensive experience in all aspects of pension and insurance plan design, funding and administration. From 1994 to 1998, Bharmal was also a member of the Pension Commission of Ontario.
Litner is a partner in the law firm of Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, and a member of the firm’s pension and benefits department. His practice has consisted of providing advice on all matters relating to the legal and regulatory issues concerning pension plans and pension funds, including governance, administration and compliance, investments and documentation.
