Sandy Grant and Roderick McLeod were approved as public directors of the Mutual Fund Dealers Association of Canada at the MDFA’s 2009 annual general meeting held March 4.

MFDA member approved Grant, a corporate director from Orillia, Ont. and McLeod, a lawyer from Markham, Ont. to hold office for a two-year term and a three-year term, respectively, or until their successors have been appointed.

In addition, Sonny Goldstein, Edgar Legzdins and Kevin Regan were approved as industry directors of the MFDA.

Goldstein, president of Toronto-based Goldstein Financial Investments Inc., will hold office for a one-year term.

Legzdins and Regan will hold office for two-year terms, or until their successors have been appointed. Legzdins is SVP retail investments & managing director, international, BMO Financial Group, in Toronto. Regan is chairman of the board and president, Investors Group Financial Services Inc., in Winnipeg.

In addition, members in attendance at the AGM approved the appointment of Deloitte & Touche LLP as auditors for the corporation.

The MFDA will hold its 2010 AGM on Dec. 1, 2010 at 11:00 ET at the St. Andrew’s Club and Conference Centre, 150 King Street West, 27th Floor, Toronto.
