The Mutual Fund Dealers Association is looking for a new head of enforcement.

The MFDA’s first head of enforcement, Stephanie McManus, has left the organization. MFDA staff were informed of the move in an e-mail yesterday.

MFDA chief operating officer, Larry Waite, confirmed the McManus’ departure after less than a year on the job, but refused further comment.

McManus did not return a call seeking comment.

McManus came to the MFDA from the Investment Dealers Association of Canada where she spent four years as enforcement counsel in Toronto and Calgary.

The MFDA’s enforcement branch is still in the early stages of its development, but it intended to start staffing up and initiating investigations early this year.
