The Mutual Fund Dealers Association board of directors has appointed three new public directors.
These appointments follow the November 2009 appointment of Dawn Russell (Nova Scotia) to the board as a public director.
The new public directors are Lea B. Hansen (Ontario), Doug Thomson (Alberta) and Janet P. Woodruff (British Columbia).
Hansen is a consultant and former head of the Canadian practice of Greenwich Associates, a global strategic consulting and research firm serving investment management and capital market executives, and is a former commissioner of the Ontario Securities Commission.
Thomson (Alberta) is a certified director of the Institute of Corporate Directors and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants. He is the vice president and chief financial officer of K-Bro Linen Income Fund and is the immediate past president of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.
Woodruff is the interim president and former vice president of corporate services and chief financial officer of BC Transmission Corp., which is responsible for managing the province’s publicly owned electrical transmission system.
The appointments fill vacancies created by resignations received from Helen Meyer (Ontario), William Grace (Alberta) and Janet Pau (British Columbia).
