The Ontario Securities Commission is seeking three new members for one of its key policy advisory committees, the securities advisory committee.

The OSC is looking for three prospective candidates to serve on the SAC beginning in February 2012 for a three-year term ending December 2014.

The SAC meets monthly and provides advice to the commission and staff on a variety of matters including policy initiatives and capital markets trends. It also provides advice and comments on legal, regulatory and market implications of commission rules, policies, operations, and administration.

The commission indicates that it is interested in selecting at least one new member with extensive cross-border experience and a high level of familiarity with U.S. securities law. In general, committee members are expected to have excellent technical abilities, a strong interest in the development of securities regulatory policy, in-depth knowledge of securities legislation and policies, and have significant practice experience in the securities area.

Applications are due by December 16.
