At the annual general meeting (AGM) of the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) held in Toronto on September 9, member firms re-elected individuals to the IIROC board of directors.
As a result there are no changes to the IIROC board.
IIROC’s board is comprised of 15 directors, including IIROC’s president and CEO, with an even number of independent and industry (marketplace or dealer member) directors. Two of the seven industry directors represent marketplaces and five of the seven represent dealer members.
At the 2014 AGM, eight directors were re-elected to serve on the board. James Donegan, Marianne Harris (chairwoman), Edward Iacobucci, Gerry O’Mahoney and Catherine Smith are independent directors.
Jean-Paul Bachellerie and Paul D. Allison are dealer directors, and Tal Cohen is a marketplace director.
Six directors will continue to serve their two-year terms. Mike Gagné (vice chairman) and Brian Heidecker are independent directors. Luc Bachand, Sheldon Dyck and Pruyn Haskins are dealer directors. Kevan Cowan is marketplace director.
At the board meeting held on September 10, the board re-elected Marianne Harris and Mike Gagné to serve respectively as chairwoman and vice chairman.
