The Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) announced the election of three new governors to its board, following its annual meeting on Tuesday.

New representatives were elected for each of three firm categories: large, mid-sized, and small.

Timothy Scheve, president and CEO of Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, was elected to serve as one of three governors for big firms.

Brian Kovack, co-founder and president of Kovack Securities, Inc., was re-elected as the sole mid-size firm representative.

Paige Pierce, senior vice president of Larimer Capital Corp., was elected to represent small firms on FINRA’s board.

The trio join Jack Ehnes, the chief executive of California State Teachers’ Retirement System, who was appointed a public governor back in June, as the newest members on the U.S. self-regulatory organization’s board.

“Our new and returning board members bring valuable perspectives that will help us improve FINRA’s operations and advance our mission,” says Robert Cook, FINRA CEO, in a statement. “I welcome the new board members and look forward to their contributions to ensuring the highest standards of investor protection.”
