Lindsay, Ont.-based financial software company PlanPlus Inc. on Monday announced the opening of the 4th annual PlanPlus Global Financial Planning Awards competition.

The competition rewards excellence in financial planning and brings global recognition to three financial planners from three different regions of the world, to acknowledge their outstanding contributions to the industry.

Financial planners from all countries are encouraged to participate by submitting a copy of a comprehensive plan that has been prepared for and presented to a real client.

A panel of expert judges will evaluate each plan submitted based on the pertinence, quality and breadth of the analysis and recommendations contained in the plans.

PlanPlus will underwrite the cost of an all-expenses paid trip to the Financial Planning Association’s annual conference held at the end of September in Baltimore, Md. for each of the three winners, where they will be presented their awards.

“Three new country-specific competitions that feed into the 2016 Global Financial Planning Awards competition were launched this year,” says John Page, awards chairman, in a statement.

Canada, Germany and Singapore have now joined Malaysia, which launched its Planner of the Year Award competition in 2015.

“We created the PlanPlus Global Financial Planning Awards three years ago to showcase financial planning at its best, and are more than pleased with the results so far — the plans submitted just keep getting better year after year,” adds Shawn Brayman, PlanPlus president and CEO. “The Global Planning Awards garner a lot of media attention both from within and outside of the financial services industry, and we believe they help increase awareness of the important role planners play in ensuring their clients’ future financial wellbeing.”

Financial planners who are interested in participating are invited to register soon in order to have adequate time to prepare their submissions. More information about the Global Financial Planning Awards can be found at www.planplus.com/gfpa.
