Mandeville, Smart Money introduce WealthPort service

Nest Wealth Asset Management Inc. has appointed Chris Hogg, formerly director of national accounts at the exchange-traded fund (ETF) arm of Toronto-based BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd., as head of its advisor-centric technology tool, Nest Wealth Pro.

Hogg will lead the team responsible for Nest Wealth Pro, the Toronto-based robo-advisor’s white-label tech tool designed for traditional brokerage firms, advisors and asset managers, according to an announcement released Thursday.

The digital platform looks to automate the administrative and commoditized parts of an advisor’s investment process, which can include onboarding a client in a digitally secure and encrypted manner without paper, managing know-your-client profiles, understanding inflows and outflows in their business and where portfolio rebalancing needs to occur.

Hogg is a 20-year veteran in the financial services industry. His experience includes positions at Toronto-based DundeeWealth Inc. (prior to its acquisition in 2011 by Toronto-based Bank of Nova Scotia) and Toronto-based Dynamic Funds, a family of funds under the management of 1832 Asset Management LP. While at iShares, he was responsible for developing strategic corporate partnerships with direct investing, full service brokerages and financial planning firms.

“I’ve seen many changes within the industry, but have never encountered a shift as meaningful and disruptive as what we’re seeing today. I believe Nest Wealth Pro to be the most innovative digital wealth solution in North America,” says Hogg in a statement. “Joining Nest Wealth gives me a fantastic opportunity to support Canada’s wealth management community by introducing them to Nest’s innovative new tools.”

Nest Wealth Pro recently launched on a broader basis after undergoing a pilot project earlier this year.

“The launch of Nest Wealth Pro shows that technology and tradition can co-exist in a way that supports advisors and benefits their clients,” says Randy Cass, CEO and founder of Nest Wealth, in a statement. “Chris joining the company will extend Nest’s leadership position in bringing the best digital wealth management platform to advisors, firms and institutions.”
