Bank of Montreal (BMO) and Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD) are among the firms being recognized by the U.S.  Financial Services Roundtable (FSR) for their efforts at promoting financial literacy, along with other charitable work.

The FSR announced Monday it will recognize 28 financial services companies for their efforts at expanding financial literacy and volunteering in U.S. communities.

"FSR member companies strengthened their local communities by supporting over a million volunteer projects, donating over US$1.1 billion dollars for the second year in a row, volunteering nearly eight million hours, and completing close to 700,000 financial literacy projects," says Judy Chapa, vice president of corporate social responsibility, FSR, in a statement.

The recipients will receive their awards at an event in Washington, D.C. on July 12.
