The Private Capital Markets Association of Canada (PCMA) has announced the election of its first Western Canada based chairman and the election of 11 new members of its national board of directors.

The PCMA, formerly known as the Exempt Market Dealers Association of Canada, is the leading national voice of Canada’s private capital markets.

“Our new chairman, Doug Bedard, a senior vice president and director at exempt market dealer MNP Corporate Finance Inc., has been a great asset to our association for a number of years. Doug will help drive our industry dialogue in new directions and provide strategic leadership to the PCMA on the issues facing our industry,” said Geoffrey Ritchie, executive director of the PCMA said in a release.

The PCMA’s national board of directors brings together industry leaders from every region of Canada and from key specializations within the private capital markets including exempt market dealers, issuers of private securities and professionals who advise the industry on business, legal, accounting and compliance matters.   • 2015 PCMA Awards – Private Capital Deals of the Year, Spring 2015
