Toronto-based IA Clarington Investment Inc. has launched three mutual funds aimed at income-seeking investors. IA Clarington Emerging Markets Bond Fund is meant to provide income and potential capital appreciation through investments in three main emerging-markets asset classes: hard-currency sovereign bonds, local-currency sovereign bonds and corporate bonds. IA Clarington Global Bond Fund has the same objective, but invests in up to 16 fixed-income asset classes from around the world, with a focus on markets outside Canada. New York-based PineBridge Investments LLC is the portfolio manager for both funds. IA Clarington Global Yield Opportunities Fund, on the other hand, is co-managed by Clément Gignac, Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services Inc.’s senior vice president and chief economist, and Tyler Mordy, president and chief investment officer of Forstrong Global Asset Management Inc. That fund aims to offer investors a monthly income stream and a modest total investment return by investing primarily in IA Clarington mutual funds that, in turn, invest in a broad range of geographies and income-oriented asset classes.
