(December 8 – 10:20 ET) –
Royal Bank has been named as
the world’s most sophisticated
Internet bank by financial
research firm Lafferty Group of
London, UK.
In a survey of the top 50 North
American banking websites, Lafferty
names Royal as the winner, just
ahead of Wells Fargo, Citigroup,
BankBoston and Bank of America.
It also came out tops in the 1998
survey.
Michael Lafferty, chairman of
the Lafferty Group, comments, “Our
rankings show that Royal Bank was
the overall winner, just ahead of
its big American rivals,
illustrating how this Canadian bank
has developed strength and depth
which has kept it ahead of the
pack for two straight years.”
Lafferty’s ratings are based on
five criteria: interactivity,
content, navigation, speed, and
design.
Apart from its standard online
banking services Royal also offers
itself as a portal for Inetrnet
shopping and says it plans to add
customization in early 2000,
including customised home pages.
