Markets will remain closed in New York tomorrow.
Nasdaq, the American Stock Exchange, and the New York Stock Exchange, after consultation with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission say that, “and in light of the heinous attack on America, [they] have decided to remain closed through Wednesday, September 12. The U.S. markets, after further consultation with the SEC, will announce tomorrow when U.S. equities markets will reopen.”
Also, in coordination with other financial exchanges and U.S. regulatory authorities, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. has announced that after-hours electronic trading on the exchange’s GLOBEX system will be cancelled this evening, following suspension this morning of all trading in the exchange’s contracts.
CME officials said the exchange will remain in constant communications with other markets and regulatory authorities in order to determine when open outcry and electronic trading will resume in CME markets.
