To commemorate the second anniversary of September 11, the TSX Group, which operates the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange, will be asking its employees and all market participants to observe four separate moments of silence to remember those who lost their lives.
Both markets will open for trading at 9:30 ET on Thursday, September 11.
The first moment of silence will take place at 8:46 ET in observance of the time that the first plane struck the World Trade Center North Tower.
The second will be at 9:03 ET, in observance of the time that the second plane struck the WTC South Tower.
The third will occur at 9:59 ET, the time of the fall of the South Tower.
The fourth moment of slience will take place at 10:29 ET, the time of the fall of the North Tower.
