(July 7 – 18:00 ET) – Barbara Stymiest, president and CEO of the Toronto Stock Exchange today announced the appointment of John Cieslak as senior vice president and chief information officer.
“John has an outstanding reputation in our industry,” said Stymiest, “and brings to us a wealth of both business and technical experience.”
Cieslak has several years of technology experience in the securities industry, most recently as vice president, information technology services and chief information officer for National Bank Financial
According to a statement from the TSE, he will play a key leadership role in the growth of the business and the development of technology plans to support it.
Cieslak was chairperson of the TSE Systems Committee from 1997 to 1998, and is currently a member of the CDS Technology Advisory Committee. He also previously worked with First Marathon Securities and Nesbitt Burns.
Cieslak will join the TSE on August 8.
