Monday’s release of Canadian industrial product and raw material price indexes by Statistics Canada are expected to show inflation pressures easing.

Economists forecast a drop of 0.7% for industrial products and 4% for raw materials.

On Tuesday, StatsCan reports on gross domestic product for August. Economists forecast a month-over-month increase of 0.3%.

On Friday, Statistics Canada releases the October employment report. Economists forecast the unemployment rate to come in at 6.4%, unchanged from September.

South of the border

On Monday, the U.S. Commerce Department releases personal income and spending data for September. Economists forecast increases of 0.4% in income and 0.3% in spending.

On Tuesday, the U.S. Conference Board issues consumer confidence data for October. A reading of 107.9 is expected, up from 104.5 the previous month.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Commerce Department reports on auto sales for October. Economists forecast sales of 16.3 million at an annualized rate, down from 16.6 million the previous month.

On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Labor reports on initial jobless claims for the week ended Oct 28. Economists forecast 310,000 new claims.

On Friday, the U.S. Department of Labor releases the October employment report. Economists forecast the U.S. unemployment rates to come in unchanged at 4.6%.
