On Monday, the U.S. Conference Board reports on the leading indicators for July. Economists forecast a gain of 0.4%.
On Wednesday, the Bank of Japan starts a two-day monetary policy meeting.
On Thursday, the U.S. Department of Labor reports initial jobless claims for the week ended Aug. 18. Economists forecast 316,000 new claims.
Meanwhile, the Bank of Japan releases monthly economic report.
On Friday, the U.S. Department of Commerce reports on durable goods orders for July. Economists expect an increase of 1%.
Separately, Commerce releases new home sales figures for July. Economists forecast annualized sales of 825,000 homes.

U.S. home improvement retailer Lowe’s Cos. reports second-quarter results on Monday.
On Tuesday, U.S. retailer Target Corp. reports second-quarter earnings.
