The U.S. Department of Commerce reports on building permits and housing starts for May. Economists forecast 500,000 permits on an annualized basis, and 480,000 starts, annualized.
The U.S. Federal Reserve Board reports on industrial production and capacity utilization in May. Industrial production is forecast to fall 0.9%, and the capacity utilization rate is forecast to be 68.4%.
On Wednesday, the U.S. Labour Department reports on the consumer price index for May. Economists expect a rise of 0.3% from the previous month, and drop of 0.9% year-over-year.
U.S. Commerce releases data on the current account balance for the first quarter. A deficit of US$85 billion is expected.
On Thursday, the U.S. Labour Department reports on initial jobless claims for the week ended June 13. Economists forecast 610,00 claims.
