As for economic news, Statistics Canada reports on the current account balance for the third quarter on Thursday. Economists expect a surplus of $3.5 billion.

Separately, StatsCan reports on industrial product and raw materials prices for October. Economists expect a 0.5% drop in industrial prices and an increase of 0.3% in raw materials.

On Friday, Statistics Canada reports on the gross domestic product in the third quarter. Economists expect growth of 2.3% from the same period last year. For September, an increase of 0.1% is expected from the previous month.

South of the border

On Tuesday, the U.S. Conference Board reports on consumer confidence in November. Economists expect the index to show a reading of 91.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of Commerce reports on durable goods orders for October. Orders are expected to remain flat.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Federal Reserve Board issues its beige book, a summary of economic conditions in the 12 Fed districts.

On Thursday, the U.S. Commerce Department posts preliminary data on the gross domestic product for the third quarter. An annualized rise of 4.8% is forecast.

Separately, Commerce reports on new home sales for October. Economists expect 750,000 sales, annualized, representing a decline of 2.6% from the previous month.

Meanwhile, the U.S. Department of Labor reports on initial jobless claims for the week ended November 24. Economists expect 330,000 claims.

On Friday, the U.S. Commerce Department reports on construction spending in October. Economists expect a drop of 0.3%.
