(June 22 – 18:10 ET) – How does a fledgling firm get brokers’ attention in the year 2000? Sex and spirits, just like the good old days.

On Tuesday CDNX-listed Las Vegas From Home.com Entertainment invited the Vancouver brokerage community to Le Pavillon at the Four Seasons Hotel to preview its new software. The catch? The system was demonstrated by Playboy’s 2000 Playmate of the Year, Jodi Ann Paterson. Several other Playmates and models were hired to “host” the brokers.

LVH’s wittily titled press release “Las Vegas’s models keep investors abreast” announced the event on Monday. The party was reportedly well attended by Vancouver’s brokers. LVH is said to be developing a 24-hour gambling channel on the Internet.

According to Stockwatch data, the firm had its second-biggest volume day ever on the day of the party gaining 14¢. The following day it lost 14¢, and today it dropped another 16¢. The stock’s biggest buyers since the party are Global Securities Corp., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc. and CIBC Wood Gundy. The biggest sellers are Haywood Securities and Yorkton Securities.
