(August 31 – 11:00 ET) – MGI Software Corp. reported a net loss
of $2.7 million or $0.10 a share for the quarter ended July 31, 1999.
That figure excludes amortization and interest income. Net loss for
the corresponding period in 1998 was $2.6 million or $0.11 a share.
Revenue for the quarter was $5.4 million. That’s a 75% improvement
on the firm’s $3.1 million in revenue for the second quarter in 1998.
As of July 31, 1999, the company had $20.7 million in current
assets.
MGI Software is a digital media company with offices in Canada,
the U.S., Europe and Asia. It trades on the TSE under the symbol
MGI.
