(April 20 – 17:05 ET) – Standard & Poor’s Canadian Index Operations will be adjusting several indexes to accommodate the Investors Group’s takeover of Mackenzie Financial Corp.
Effective after the close of business on April 20, Mackenzie Financial will be removed from the Toronto Stock Exchange 300 Composite Index , TSE 300 Capped, S&P/TSE Canadian Financials Sector, S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap and TSE 100 Indices.
FPI Limited will replace Mackenzie in the TSE 300 composite index, TSE 300 capped
and TSE 200 indices. Emera Incorporated will replace Mackenzie Financial Corp. in the S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap Index. FPI will be added to the S&P/TSE Canadian SmallCap Index replacing Emera. Methanex Corp. will be added to TSE 100 Index in the Industrials sector replacing Mackenzie.

The weight of Investors Group will increase by approximately 0.11% in the TSE 300 Composite and TSE 300 Capped, 0.69% in the S&P/TSE Canadian MidCap, 0.41% in the S&P/TSE Canadian Financials Sector and 0.11% in the TSE 100 Indexes to reflect an adjustment to the float shares of the company due to the acquisition of Mackenzie.
