Alternext, Euronext NV’s market dedicated to small and mid-cap stocks, welcomed its first North American listing today.

Alternext’s first North American listing is Canada’s H2O Innovation, which has specialized in the design, development and marketing of innovative technology for the production of drinking water and the treatment of waste water since 2000.

The firm, which is already listed here, launched a 6.5 million euros private placement, allowing it to join Alternext through a direct listing.

This new listing is the third for a company from outside the Euronext zone, following Italy’s Safwood and the UK’s Assima. It pushes the number of companies on Alternext to 78, with market capitalization totaling 3.7 billion euros.
