Federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty will present his fall economic statement on November 23, he announced Thursday.
Flaherty told the House of Commons finance committee the statement would include a long-term economic plan for the country and suggested that more tax cuts could be in the offing.
The last federal budget in May brought in a one percentage point cut in the GST in July. The government said another cut would be coming.
Flaherty is on record as saying more tax cuts are in the works, although the specific timing has been vague.
He also said he would have more to say about Canada’s competitiveness in the economic statement.
