Twelve London Stock Exchange employees were taken to hospital Tuesday as a precautionary measure after a suspicious package was found in the mail room of the exchange, according to a report by the U.K.’s. Sky News.

North American stocks dipped on the news that employees of the exchange are being tested for anthrax. The LSE is not commenting on the news.

At this point, Toronto stocks seem to be avoiding the pressure. And in New York, the Nasdaq is holding up.

But the one major exchange that still operates a trading floor, the NYSE, is seeing its benchmark Dow average slide into negative territory on the news after a positive open.
