VenGrowth Capital Partners has appointed three life sciences professionals to its team, adding assistance to the management and operations of The VenGrowth Advanced Life Sciences Investment Fund Inc.

VenGrowth general partner and lead manager for the fund, Dr. Luc Marengère, is joined by Jeff Courtney, a partner, Ken Yoon and Tatiana Badescu, both investment analysts.

“We are exceptionally pleased to round out the team with the addition of these industry leaders,” said Marengère in a news release. “We are entertaining a wealth of leading-edge opportunities at this time and these three professionals will be instrumental in deal evaluation, due diligence as well as providing strategic guidance, operational support and added value to our portfolio companies.”

The fund recently invested $6.6 million in Z-Tech (Canada) Inc., which has developed a new technology for breast cancer screening. The firm says that the market potential and activity of the Canadian life-sciences industry has translated into a significant flow of opportunities for the VenGrowth Advanced Life Sciences Fund. Several promising new investments are anticipated in the coming months.
