Insight into the world’s markets from respected authorities in global investing are on tap at the Outlook and Opportunities Forum 2004 scheduled for July 22 in Toronto, presented by Franklin Templeton Investments.

Money managers from around the world are expected to share their insight on Europe’s investment opportunities and other opportunities in emerging markets, the outlook on dividend paying equities, other opportunities in global fixed income, and how to find value within a global recovery.

Featured speakers include the likes of George Morgan, the Nassau, Bahamas-based lead manager of the Templeton Growth Fund, celebrating it’s 50th anniversary in Canada; Don Reed, president and CEO of Franklin Templeton Investments Corp. in Toronto, and lead manager of the Templeton International Stock Fund; Mark Mobius, Singapore-based lead manager of the Templeton Emerging Markets Fund; and high yield specialist Eric Takaha, the San Mateo, California based co-lead manager of the Franklin High Income Fund and Franklin Strategic Income Fund.

Advisors who join the morning presentation, starting at 7:00 ET, in the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, will also get the opportunity to meet with Calgary’s Mike Quinn, president and CFO of Bissett Investment Management, and lead manager of the Bissett Canadian Balanced Fund to discuss the state of dividend paying stocks.

Nassau’s Jeff Everett, CIO of the Templeton Global Equity Group, and president of Templeton Global Advisors Ltd., will also talk about the company’s process for investing. Juliette John, lead manager of the Bissett Dividend Fund and co-lead manager of the Bissett Income Trust and Dividend Fund, heads up the dividend discussion in the afternoon session.

Along with the managers and analysts from across the board, co-CEOs from other Templeton divisions will also be on hand to answer questions, both at the forum, and at the Templeton Growth Fund’s annual general meeting.

“Essentially we’re providing information to our mutual fund holders to help equip them to make their decisions,” says Reed. “This event is a must for a lot of our senior people. It’s really an expression of how important we think our current and potential investors are.”

More than 2,000 people are expected to attend Thursday’s event in downtown Toronto. The forum runs from 13:30 to 14:30 in Constitution Hall, Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

Those who miss it can catch the forum on July 26 and 27, and August 3 when the forum is broadcast nationally on Report on Business Television.
