Toronto-based Sentry Investments Inc. announced the appointment of Ben Chim to the role of senior portfolio manager effective as of Monday.

Chim will manage the credit portfolios across the asset manager’s mutual fund lineup with a focus on global high-yield corporate bonds. He will join Sentry’s fixed-income team, which is led by James Dutkiewicz, chief investment strategist and senior portfolio manager.

Chim brings 15 years of experience in fixed-income and credit analysis to his new role. Most recently, he was a portfolio manager with Toronto-based Sprott Asset Management LP. His experience also includes time as a vice president with TD Asset Management Inc. and as an investment analyst wtih CI Investments Inc., both also based in Toronto.
