(January 11 – 15:40 ET) – Royal Mutual Funds Inc. is launching Royal Global Equity Funds, a suite of seven funds offering access to the largest array of high-growth investment opportunities from specific industry sectors around the world.
Each Royal Global Sector Fund will target seven key areas including communications and media, consumer trends, financial services, health sciences, infrastructure, resources and technology. Each fund represents a concentrated sector-specific investment for investors and features a minimum initial investment of $2,500 for registered and non-registered plans.
Additionally, the Royal Global Titans Fund will provide investors with one fund that draws on the best investment opportunities from these seven sectors. The fund features a minimum initial investment of $500 for registered plans and $1,000 for non-registered plans.
The funds will be available to investors beginning Monday, January 15. Each of the new funds features a management fee of 2.00% with a maximum Management Expense Ratio of 2.75%.
“We have created a specialized team within Royal Bank Investment Management to research and analyze the global marketplace and seek out the most promising global investment opportunities available on a sector basis,” says George Lewis, president and CEO, Royal Mutual Funds. “As a result, we are offering our clients a unique suite of global equity funds designed to provide access to the best high-growth investments from major industry sectors around the world.”
The Global Equity Funds will be managed by seasoned portfolio managers with Canadian and international investment expertise within RBIM, including Sarah Khoo, Global Sector Research Director and Portfolio Manager. Khoo returns to RBIM after spending two years with another investment management firm.
Khoo’s team of analysts will work with lead portfolio managers on the funds, identifying investment themes and providing bottom-up research and analysis on seven key industry sectors. The stock selection process will include both qualitative business appraisal and quantitative modeling.
Companies selected will be based on key attributes, such as having a leading market position or defensible niche, predictable growth, high and sustainable profitability, sound financial position, strong management and attractive relative value.
All eight funds will be available through investment specialists at any Royal Bank branch and through RMF’s Invest by Phone service at 1-800-ROYAL-MF (1-800-769-2563), beginning Monday, January 15.
They will also be available through Action Direct, the Private Client Division of RBC Dominion Securities and other authorized brokers and dealers.
