Manulife Financial Corp. announced Monday that it has added two new options to its lineup of Manulife Private Investment Pools: Manulife Balanced Income Private Trust and Manulife Balanced Private Trust.

While Manulife Private Investment Pools were first offered for sale to investors in December 2012, the corporate class versions of these pools were capped as a result of the recent federal budget announcement. The launch of the two trust versions rounds out the suite of balanced pools, ensuring a comprehensive range of pools from which investors may choose.

“Manulife is pleased to provide advisors with these investment options for their affluent clients,” says Derek Saliba, head of mutual funds product. “This program enables advisors to develop an investment strategy that reflects their clients’ goals for income, growth and capital preservation, while providing tax efficiency, household account-linking, and competitive fees.”

The two new pools, managed by Manulife Asset Management and offered in a trust structure are:

> Manulife Balanced Income Private Trust, which invests in a mix of income-oriented equity and fixed income investment funds. Managed by Manulife Asset Management (U.S.), LLC’s Portfolio Solutions Group (Steve Medina, Bob Boyda, and Scott McIntosh), this is a diversified, income-tilted balanced solution with a target asset allocation of 70 percent fixed income and 30 percent equities

> Manulife Balanced Private Trust, which offers investors balanced exposure to dividend-paying equities and global fixed income securities. This strategy targets a neutral mix of 50 percent equities and 50 percent fixed income under normal market conditions, and is managed by Sandy Sanders, Walter McCormick, Dan Janis III, Tom Goggins, and Dennis McCafferty of Manulife Asset Management (U.S.), LLC

The minimum investment for the Manulife Private Investment Pools is $150,000 per pool, per account.
