(October 30 – 17:40 ET) -The financial services industry has a new awards program designed to celebrate marketing excellence. The Marquee Awards will be presented at the 6th Annual Canadian Mutual Fund Awards Gala to be held on December 6 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.

According the coordinators of the awards, the program will strive to recognize professional achievement in marketing and provide a forum to showcase outstanding programs that support a strong and successful financial services sector in Canada. Among its goals, the awards program will seek to raise the benchmarks for excellence in marketing. It will also demonstrate how the marketing of financial services benefits consumers by creating awareness of the choices and options available to help individuals achieve their personal financial goals.

Awards will be presented in eight categories including: print advertising, print material, radio, television, out-of-home, direct marketing campaign, multimedia/internet and best overall campaign. A select jury made up of representatives from the media, financial services industry and creative agencies will judge entries in each category.

An advertisement calling for submissions to the Marquee Awards will appear in the November issue of Investment Executive newspaper. As this inaugural year, submission fees will be waived for all entries. Submissions must be received on or before November 15 to be eligible for this year’s awards.
