Winnipeg-based Investors Group Financial Services Inc. on Monday announced a subadvisor relationship with Toronto-based BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd.

Headquartered in New York, BlackRock, Inc. operates in more than 30 countries and 70 cities across the Americas, Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.

“Adding the world’s largest asset manager once again demonstrates that Investors Group works with industry-leading subadvisors for the benefit of our clients,” says Jon Kilfoyle, senior vice president, IG Investments, Investors Group Financial Services Inc., in a statement. “BlackRock’s world-class investment management capabilities delivers additional choice and value to our clients, helping them pursue their financial goals.”

The new arrangement includes BlackRock Canada’s systematic active equity (SAE) team which is backed by more than 80 portfolio managers, researchers and strategists. Team members have a diverse set of backgrounds and expertise spanning academia, data science, finance and economics. The group will bring this expertise to iProfile International Equity Pool/Class.

An asset allocation service, iProfile is a managed asset program for clients investing at least $250,000 into the program.
