(August 9 – 15:30 ET) – The Investment Funds Institute of Canada is reporting that $62,000 was raised for the United Way at the IFIC Annual Golf Classic.

The ninth annual tournament was held on July 27 at Lionhead Golf and Country Club. It was sponsored by Fundata Canada Inc. and FundSERV Inc.

The winners on the Legends course were Rob Penteliuk from CIBC World Markets, Kish Kapoor of Assante Corp., and Michael Simonetta of First International Asset Management. They combined for a winning score of 66.

The winners on the Masters course were Jim Hunter and Harold Hands of Mackenzie Financial Corp., along with Allan Warren and Lee Goldman of M.R.S. Trust. They also shot a 66.

The team of Frank Vree and Arden Cornford of FundSERV Inc., Laurie Jackson of Canadian Depository for Securities Ltd. and Jo-Anne O’Donovan of Royal Bank, won the dubious distinction of The Most Honest Team on the Legends course with a score of 87. Ralf Hensel and Victoria Prince from Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, and Leslie Byberg of IFIC took the same honour on the Masters Course with a final score of 98.
