Fidelity Investments has announced numerous portfolio management appointments, effective October 9.

James Catudal has been appointed portfolio manager of Fidelity Stock Selector. Stock Selector has historically been managed using computer-aided, quantitative analysis. Catudal will manage the fund using a fundamental, bottom-up approach to analysis and stock selection.

Catudal has been managing Fidelity Select Financial Services Portfolio and Fidelity Advisor Financial Services Fund, and serving as sector leader of the financial services equity research group, since February 2000. He also has managed VIP Financial Services Portfolio since it was launched in August 2001. Jeffrey Feingold has been appointed to his old mandates and will continue to manage Fidelity Select Home Finance Portfolio.

Bahaa Fam has been named portfolio manager of Fidelity TechnoQuant Growth Fund and Fidelity Advisor TechnoQuant Growth Fund. Fam currently manages the equity portion of Fidelity Asset Manager; aggressive, institutional equity portfolios, and the U.S. equity portions of some international and Canadian accounts managed by Fidelity. He will continue in those roles. For the past three years, Fam also has served as Fidelity’s director of quantitative research.

Catudal and Fam succeed Bobby Kuo and John Chow, respectively. The appointments are the result of a restructuring of one of Fidelity’s quantitative portfolio management teams. Kuo and Chow will continue to contribute to Fidelity’s efforts in the quantitative area.

Vincent Rivers has been named portfolio manager of Fidelity Select Paper and Forest Products Portfolio, succeeding Adam Segel, who will continue as an equity research analyst covering tobacco and beverage stocks.

Richard Habermann and Ford O’Neil have been appointed co-managers of VIP: Asset Manager Portfolio and VIP: Asset Manager Growth Portfolio, succeeding Bart Grenier. Grenier will continue to serve in a senior leadership role within Fidelity’s investment management division. Habermann is a long-time Fidelity veteran who will continue to serve as lead portfolio manager of Fidelity’s Asset Manager Funds, Fidelity Advisor Global Equity Fund and Fidelity Advisor Asset Allocation Fund, in addition to a number of asset allocation funds available exclusively to Canadian and overseas investors.
