(January 9 – 14:30 ET) – Fidelity Investments Canada Ltd. has expanded the reach of its wireless Web account access service for financial advisors and their clients across Canada.
Fidelity’s wireless Web information services are now available across the country to customers of national wireless provider TELUS Mobility (including its Mike and Clearnet PCS clients).
Fidelity Investments is the first mutual fund company to make individual account information and other services available from its Web site accessible to users of this new technology in all parts of the country.
Initially launched in September for Bell Mobility subscribers, Fidelity’s wireless service makes top-ranked www.fidelity.ca available to advisors and their clients anywhere, anytime.
Real-time information and services are offered in both French and English and include: account information; pricing, performance data and profiles for Fidelity funds; tools for financial advisors; and Canadian newswire coverage.
There is no charge for Fidelity’s wireless access service other than service plan or airtime charges by a user’s wireless service provider.
“We have been extremely pleased by the positive reception to our wireless service, and to the feedback we are receiving from advisors on what else they would like to see from us,” said John Lee, vice president, e-Business division of Fidelity Investments Canada.
The Fidelity network uses 128-bit encryption for all communication and account transactions. This protects not only the information individuals send to Fidelity, but also the information Fidelity sends to them.
Users already registered with fidelity.ca can access Fidelity’s wireless service with the same password and user ID. Financial professionals can access their Fidelity mutual fund accounts in the Professional Centre by using their existing personal First ID and PIN.
