(April 3 – 14:45 ET) – Mackenzie Financial Corporation and Cundill Funds Inc., its wholly owned subsidiary, announced their amalgamation today. The amalgamated corporation will be known as Mackenzie Financial Corporation.
Cundill Funds Inc. was previously the manager of The Cundill Funds. The Cundill Funds were acquired by Mackenzie in September 1998. The amalgamation completes the acquisition process of unifying the management services provided to the Cundill Funds with all of Mackenzie’s other funds.
Mackenzie is the manager of the Industrial, Ivy, Universal and Keystone fund families, and has now become the manager of The Cundill Funds.
The acquisition of Cundill Funds Inc., says Mackenzie, has enabled it to establish a significant administrative centre in Vancouver and plans are for continued growth.
The amalgamation will have no impact on the investment approach of the Cundill Funds. The Cundill investment team will continue to provide investment management and research for the Cundill Funds.
