Co-operators Mutual Funds Ltd., the trustee and manager of Co-operators/Warburg Pincus Global Telecommunications Fund announced today that it intends broaden the investment objective of the fund.

“By investing in companies located throughout the world who are engaged in the development, production, distribution, or use of products or services related to the field of science or technology, we feel the fund will maximize its long-term goals,” said David Hartman, CMFL president.

In conjunction with the change in investment strategy, the fund will be renamed Co-operators/Credit Suisse Science and Technology Fund. The new investment strategy is subject to unit holder approval at a meeting on September 25 at the firm’s offices in Guelph, Ont.
