Vancouver-based Connor, Clark & Lunn Financial Group Ltd. has expanded its offerings to Europe, with two funds focused on quantitative equity strategies, the firm said in a release on Wednesday.

The CC&L Q Emerging Markets Equity UCITS Fund is an actively managed long-only equity strategy that targets long-term capital growth relative to emerging market equity indexes.

The CC&L Q Global Equity Market Neutral UCITS Fund is an actively managed long/short equity strategy that seeks to generate returns that have a low correlation with global equity markets and to maximize long-term total return.

The two new funds, which are managed by Connor, Clark & Lunn Investment Management Ltd., are sub-funds of the Connor, Clark & Lunn UCITS ICAV, an Irish collective asset-management vehicle constituted as an umbrella fund, with segregated liability among sub-funds. The firm announced the collective vehicle’s launch in the release.

UCITS, the Undertakings for the Collective Investment in Transferable Securities, is a European Commission regulatory framework for the harmonized sale of mutual funds throughout Europe.

“We have successfully managed quantitative equity strategies for over two decades,” said Martin Gerber, president and CIO of CC&L Investment Management, in the release.

“Launching UCITS funds for our emerging markets and market neutral strategies allows these strategies to be available to European investors.”
