(December 15 – 13:05 ET) – C.I. Mutual Funds Inc. has appointed C.I. Global Advisors LLP portfolio adviser to the CI Global Technology Fund, effective immediately.

The lead portfolio manager of the fund is Stephen Waite, manager of the C.I. Global Telecommunications Fund and C.I. Global Biotechnology Fund.

“Stephen Waite has a long and impressive track record of first-quartile performance in technology investing and is a natural fit with this fund,” says Peter W. Anderson, president of C.I. Mutual Funds Inc. “He is recognized by financial advisers across Canada for his insight and intimate knowledge of the latest trends in science and technology and how investors can profit from these trends.”

Waite managed C.I. Global Technology Fund from inception in July 1996 until June 1999, when he left Credit Suisse Asset Management to found C.I. Global Advisors with William Sterling.

He has over 15 years of Wall Street experience that includes senior positions at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse Asset Management. He holds an MA in economics and is co-author of the book Boomernomics, which discusses demographics, technology and globalization and their implications for investors.

Waite is replacing Scott Morrison of C.I. Mutual Funds. Mr. Morrison had managed C.I. Global Technology Fund since July 2000.
