(November 22 – 12:40 ET) – AIC Funds Inc. has filed a preliminary prospectus to offer a new series of corporate versions of 19 of its existing mutual funds.
The new corporate series allows for tax-free switching between funds. The roster of corporate funds will include the popular Advantage funds, and funds from each of AIC’s focused, diversified, sector and income series.
AIC is also multi-classing the corporate shares to allow for lower management fees either to big investors or those who buy the funds through wrap accounts and other fee-based products.
This move continues the long-awaited “unbundling” of fund industry management fees. Investors in F-class shares will pay 100 basis points less in annual fees than basic mutual fund investors.
For mutual fund class shares, the typical front-end load, deferred sales charge and trailer commission rates remain in effect.
