AGF Funds Inc. today announced the appointment of Martin Hubbes as senior vp and chief investment officer, effective immediately. He succeeds Bob Farquharson who remains vice chairman, AGF Management Ltd.

“I want to thank Bob for his important contribution as CIO since 1996,” said Blake Goldring, president and CEO, AGF, in a release. “As a portfolio manager since 1963, Bob has had one of the longest and most distinguished careers in the Canadian investment management industry. While he is now passing the torch, Bob will remain a valued partner and resource at AGF. I am very pleased to have Martin take on this critical role,” said Goldring.

Hubbes brings 13 years of portfolio management and administrative experience at AGF to his new role. He holds a CFA designation, MBA and MSc, and is currently portfolio manager on the Canadian Stock Fund and AGF Canada Class as well as co-manager on AGF Global Health Sciences Fund.

“Martin is a highly regarded portfolio manager with broad administrative experience.
