(January 18 – 15:00 ET) – Montreal-based Addenda Capital Inc., a firm specializing in the active management of Fixed Income Securities for institutional and private clients, has added two portfolio mangers to its lineup.
Yvan Fontaine joins the team as portfolio manager, international markets. Fontaine’s mandate is to monitor international markets and to create and manage an international bond fund. Along with the other portfolio managers, he will also be involved in the management of the Canadian bonds portfolios.
Fontaine has a broad experience in the bond market. Previously he worked as principal manager, bonds with Hydro-Quebec’s pension fund and before that as trader, international bonds at Caisse de Dépôt et Placement du Québec.
Fontaine also worked several years in different posts the Bank of Canada, notably as principal analyst where he participated in elaborating and implementing the Canadian monetary policy.
Graeme Thom is also joining Addenda as portfolio manager. Thom will develop and manage a multistrategy fund, which will combine active bond management and the use of derivative products.
Thom has been active in the fixed income xecurities market since 1983. his last position was as director at RBC Securities. Prior to that he was director, bond trading at Richardson Greenshields of Canada, and a government bond trader at Citibank Canada.
Thom will work in Addenda’s Toronto office.
