(Deceember 1 – 10:35 ET- The 6th Annual Canadian Mutual Funds Awards Gala showcasing Canada’s mutual fund industry leaders, as well as the best financial services marketing communications through the first annual Marquee Awards is set for will be held on December 6,2000 at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto.
“The Annual Canadian Mutual Fund Awards Gala has been sold out for five consecutive years. The public and industry leaders are given an opportunity to vote on 25 different awards in categories ranging from The Best Fund, Education Awards, and Service Awards to the New Spirit of Community Award. This year we also felt that the gala would act as a great launch for the first annual Marquee Awards,” said Sabine Steinbrecher, Founder of the CMFA Gala Event.
The Marquee Awards was conceived as an opportunity for the industry to gather and honour the unsung creative heroes of the Canadian financial services marketing industry. Submissions have been received by over 25 companies within the categories of print media ads, print material, radio, television, out-of-home, interactive and best overall campaign. All financial services companies and/or their agencies nationwide were invited to participate. The judges for these awards included individuals selected from financial services marketers to seasoned agency professionals.
“Given the tremendous change that takes place in the mutual fund industry everyday, it’s important to stop and celebrate those who are held in such high regard by the people who invest in mutual funds as well as those who work in the industry. I’m also excited about the addition of the Marquee Awards because it provides a venue to celebrate those companies who are providing clear and effective communication within the Canadian financial services sector”, says Paul Bates, President of Schwab Canada and the emcee for the awards presentation.
