Jean Carrier is the new vice president of compliance for Peak Financial Group, the independent full investment firm announced Wednesday.

As a former assistant director of inspection for the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF) for over three years, Carrier brings to Peak his extensive 25 years of experience in the financial services sector in Canada.

The Montreal-based firm says Carrier’s appointment “will undoubtedly strengthen the support to independent financial advisors in the application of regulations, development of best practices in compliance, and prevention assistance for potential audits.”

“This opportunity allows the firm to continue to position itself as a first-class player in compliance in the industry and to better support advisors,” says Robert Frances, president and CEO.

Carrier holds a Bachelor of Business Administration. He is also a member of the Ordre des comptables agréés. He has held a number of significant positions in many companies in the financial services industry.

Peak Financial Group has over $6 billion in assets under administration and a network of over 1,000 independent financial advisors and registered professionals.
