Ontario will be getting a new finance minister as the existing minister, Greg Sorbara, announced his resignation from cabinet on Friday.
Sorbara didn’t give a reason for his decision, saying only that it is “the most difficult of my political life and the most deeply personal”.
Premier Dalton McGuinty said he accepted the decision, and lauded Sorbara’s work as finance minister, including his efforts in balancing the budget.
Sorbara intends to keep his seat in the legislature until the next provincial election.
