U.S. asset management giant, T. Rowe Price Group, Inc., has added long-time Canadian industry executive, Robert MacLellan, to its board.
MacLellan, who is currently non-executive chairman of private equity firm, Northleaf Capital Partners, has been added as an independent director. Northleaf was spun off from TD Bank in 2009, where it was TD’s in-house private equity business, known as TD Capital Private Equity Investors.
At TD, MacLellan served as chief investment officer. He is also on the boards of Ace Aviation Holdings Inc., Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment Ltd., and the board of the United Way of Greater Toronto. And, he serves on the advisory committee of Toronto-based Birch Hill Equity Partners.
“Rob has extensive financial sector experience and he knows both the investment management industry and our company very well,” said Brian Rogers, chairman of T. Rowe Price, which had $391.1 billion (US dollars) in assets under management as of June 30. “We welcome his perspective, judgment and counsel.”
