U.S-based investment bank ROTH Capital Partners LLC announced that veteran Canadian banker, Lionel Conacher, has joined the firm as vice chairman.
Conacher was a co-founder and CEO of Toronto-based institutional boutique, Westwind Partners Inc., which was purchased by Thomas Weisel Partners in 2008 for $155 million. He then served as president and COO of Thomas Weisel until it was purchased by Stifel Financial in 2010. In February 2011, he joined a San Francisco-based private equity firm, Altamont Capital Partners as a senior advisor.
At ROTH, Conacher will work with its investment banking team, focusing on merger and acquisitions advisory work and corporate finance. Based in the firm’s San Francisco office, he will also help raise capital for Canadian companies from U.S. institutional investors and promote liquidity for Canadian companies on U.S. exchanges.
“We look forward to working with Lionel as we continue to build our firm and provide resources to support small-cap companies,” commented Byron Roth, chairman and CEO of ROTH. “His experience and knowledge of our industry will be an asset to our clients.”
